2008 Valley Sportsman Tournament Trail Rules
1. Teams will consist of two anglers per boat, fishing as partners. An alternate may fish with one team only. One alternate per team.
2. The catch is 5 fish limit. (Local lake lengths apply)
3. "The Golden Rule" will be used to measure fish.
4. Any protest must be made in writing and received by tournament officials no later than 20 minutes after completion of weighing of catches.
5. No alcoholic beverages will be consumed during tournament hours.
6. Following "Blast-off", all movement by contestants will be by boat only, trailering from one landing to another is not allowed until after weighing of catch, unless escorted by tournament official or approved by tournament official.
7. All fishing must be done from the boat. No trolling, use of live or prepared bait, or wading will be allowed. Only artificial lures may be used. All livewells will be checked before "Blast-off".
8. During the tournament, contestants are not allowed to anchor nor fish within 50 yards of another contestant's boat.
9. We will fish from safe daylight until 3:00 p.m. EST.
10. Fish must be weighed-in before boat is taken out and loaded on trailer, unless authorized by tournament officials.
11. Winners are subject to polygraph test.
12. One quarter pound (1/4) penalty for each dead fish, one (1) pound penalty for short fish. One (1) pound per minute after weigh-in time. After 15 minutes, disqualified.
13. Teams must fish or pay for five (5) regular tournaments to qualify for Classic.
14. All local, state & federal laws apply.
15. PFD's must be worn at all times when big motor is in use and boat is on plane, and all running lights must be working properly.
16. Culling must begin after 6th fish is caught. Anyone at dock at weigh in with more than 5 fish will be immediately disqualified.
